To our humbling surprise, our Parish was featured by Fox 11 News, on how we are celebrating Mass in our recently newly built, Outside Chapel. Fox 11 News Reporter, Laura Diaz and News Crew, did an amazing job in her report of our Parish and our Parishioners. (To see the report, click on the title above)
REMEMBER , EVERYONE IS WELCOME TO PARTICIPATE IN THE HOLY MASS INCLUDING ADULTS, OUR PARENTS OR GRANDFATHERS; EITHER DURING THE WEEK OR SUNDAY. "I want to tell the sons and grandsons who have parents or grandparents who want to come and participate in the Mass but do not have the possibility to connect through the Internet or electronically, to make the sacrifice and, at least once a week, bring your parents or grandparents to participate in the Holy Mass from their cars. Our parents and grandparents deserve to be appreciated. They, during their youth, have sacrificed much for us and a minimum spiritual sign on our part would be to worry about this hunger and need for God that they express to participate in the Holy Mass and receive Holy Communion. This may be possible here. If you have the internet you can follow Mass from home and when Mass is over, you can bring your parents and grandparents to receive Holy Communion outside the church parking lot from their cars. Now more than ever, they need God and the help of their sons/daughters or grandsons/granddaughters". You can also bring them to Confession.
"THE RULE OF FLEXIBILITY". CURRENTLY THIS OPTION IS NOT AVAILABLE BY LAW Considering that this weekend will be very hot and applying the "rule of flexibility" it has been decided as an exception that most of the Masses will be celebrated inside the Church. The only Mass that will be celebrated outside will be the 7:15 a.m., when it will not be very hot. However is offered the option to those who prefer staying outside either at the chapel or at their parked cars. Consequently, although the Masses will be celebrated inside, the outside speakers will be turned on.
During this coronavirus pandemic Our Lady of Guadalupe church in Irwindale is offering four flexible options to the church community that wishes to participate at Mass. They are the following: 1. (RIGHT NOW THIS OPTION IS NOT ALLOWED BY LAW).Participating inside the church. Every Sunday are celebrated inside the church two Masses, one in English and another in Spanish, alternating between 9 and 11 a.m. (in English) and 12:45 and 2:30 p.m. (in Spanish). During these inside celebrations parishioners have the option of being inside, or outside at the chapel by the O.L.G. shrine, or remain in their cars in the parking lot, or follow the celebration on line from their home and drive to the parking lot at the end to receive Holy Communion. 2. Participating at the outside chapel with benches and chairs set at least 6 feet distance. Since there are reduced risks at outside celebrations, are being celebrated outside all the remaining scheduled Masses. Participants have the option of being at the outside chapel, or at their parked cars, or of remaining at their home and come with their car to receive Holy Communion at the end. Those participating at outside chapel or car should bring and use an umbrella to avoid the hot sun. 3. Participating in their cars in the parking lot while the Mass is being celebrated inside or outside. Outside speakers will be turned on so they may clearly hear and follow the inside or outside celebration. Since there might be hot sun, participants are encouraged to bring and use an umbrella while participating outside. 4. Participating from their own home. All Masses will be streamlined to the homes through the Our Lady of Guadalupe-Irwindale Facebook page: www.facebook.com/OurLadyofGuadalupe.Irwindale . At the end of Mass those who wish to receive Holy Communion may drive to the church parking lot and receive it. Eucharist Ministers will wait for arrival up to 15 minutes after Mass ends. Thank you.
